What you Need to know before you VOTE Tomorrow

Tomorrow is Primary Election Day!!

For the last month and a half, we here at CCAP have worked hard not only to introduce you to each of the candidates running in your region, but to also shine a light on what is going on in the district with accurate information, first-hand testimony and real data so that you can walking in tomorrow and make the best and most informed choice this year when you vote for our next school board directors. Here are a few key things you should know before you go to the polls tomorrow:

1. Know what region you are in

2. VOTE tomorrow!

Region 1
(Coatesville City & Valley Township)
This region can choose TWO candidates

Region 2
(Caln & West Brandywine)
This region can choose TWO candidates
John Levan (Write in)

Region 3
(East Fallowfield, Sadsbury, Modena, South Coatesville & West Caln)
This region can choose ONE candidate for the 4 year term and ONE candidate for the 2 year term (please read below for more information)

3.  How to vote in Region 3

In region 3, there was some confusion as candidates submitted their election paperwork. Although there are two positions up for election, they are NOT identical. One is a full 4-year term, which is the one that each of the region 3 candidates filed their paperwork for.

However, there is also an unexpired 2-year term available. This is for the school board term currently held by Rob Marshall. Because Rob was appointed to this position shortly after the term began, he only serves until the next school board election, and then the position becomes open for him or anyone elected to complete the rest of the original 4-year term.

So what does this mean? We've checked with the candidates and while all three of them would prefer to serve four continuous years on the board before standing for re-election, each is also willing to serve the 2-year term, if elected. As such, you can choose to write in any of the candidates for the 4-year term down below for the 2-year term.

For example, if you like two of the three candidates, you can select one name for the first position, and write in one of the other names for the 2-year term. If you only like one of the three candidates, you absolutely can write in the same candidate for the 2-year term that you voted for in the 4-year term.

Here is a visual to help you know what to expect. Be sure to only vote for one person in each section to avoid a spoiled ballot.

    1. Is there a way to simulcast this on ChannelCASD? If not, post it when you're done and I'll approve. We'll get to a larger audience that way!
